Description
The DAREU COOL 98 Mechanical Keyboard is designed for gamers and productivity-focused users who want advanced gaming features, flexible connectivity, and premium typing comfort. Featuring a compact 98% layout, mechanical hot-swappable switches, tri-mode connectivity, an impressive 8000mAh rechargeable battery, and distinctive 180° Halo RGB lighting, this keyboard combines performance, functionality, and modern aesthetics.
One of the standout features of the COOL 98 is its 180° Halo lighting system. Equipped with a 49cm ambient LED strip and 37 RGB LEDs, it creates an immersive lighting effect around the keyboard. With four flowing lighting effects, 10 keyboard lighting modes, and five brightness levels, users can personalize their desktop appearance according to their preferences.
The keyboard also introduces magnetic-style SOCD (Simultaneous Opposite Cardinal Directions) control through its custom mechanical keyboard technology. Designed for competitive gaming, it offers advertised input latency as low as 1ms in wired mode and 2ms in wireless mode. This feature helps players execute opposing directional inputs more responsively during fast-paced gameplay.
Its 98% compact layout retains essential function keys and a dedicated numeric keypad while saving desk space compared with a traditional full-size keyboard. The gasket-mounted internal structure uses 13 soft silicone supports and a five-layer acoustic dampening system to provide a softer, more refined typing experience.
The DAREU COOL 98 supports three connection options: wired USB Type-C, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth. Its built-in 8000mAh rechargeable battery offers up to one month of advertised usage with RGB lighting turned off and approximately one week with maximum RGB lighting enabled.
Completing its premium design are semi-transparent keycaps, metal accents, a dedicated Star-Track rotary volume knob, and full-key hot-swappable switch support. With its combination of advanced gaming controls, comfortable typing structure, and extensive customization, the DAREU COOL 98 is an excellent choice for modern gaming and professional workstations.

SOCD (Simultaneous Opposite Cardinal Directions) technology is designed to manage opposing directional inputs for more responsive movement in competitive games. The manufacturer advertises latency as low as 1ms in wired mode and 2ms in wireless mode, making it suitable for fast-paced esports gameplay.
Tri-Mode Connectivity
The COOL 98 supports three connection options: wired USB Type-C, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth. This flexibility allows users to connect the keyboard to compatible computers, smartphones, and tablets. A dedicated Windows/Mac switch makes changing between supported operating systems convenient, while the wireless range is rated at up to 10 metres.
Massive 8000mAh Rechargeable Battery
Equipped with a high-capacity 8000mAh lithium battery, the keyboard is designed for extended wireless operation. According to DAREU, it can provide up to one month of usage with RGB lighting switched off and approximately one week with maximum RGB lighting enabled. Its power-saving algorithm helps optimize battery consumption during everyday use.
Premium Gasket Mount and Five-Layer Acoustic Dampening
The keyboard uses a soft-flex gasket mounting structure supported by 13 elastic silicone mounts. Its five-layer acoustic dampening system is designed to reduce unwanted internal resonance and deliver a softer, more refined typing sound. This construction provides a comfortable typing experience for gaming, office work, and extended sessions.
Hot-Swappable Mechanical Switches and Star-Track Volume Knob
The COOL 98 supports full-key hot-swappable mechanical switches, allowing users to customize or replace compatible switches without soldering. Available switch options include DAREU Latte and Mirage variants, depending on the selected model.
